The Haunted Buffalo Radio Show 014 – Ghost Stories and the LAST Houdini Seance!

THB-RadioShow_170-2Yesssir Folkers, The title says it all! We start off with some words on Spiritualism from the ghostly lips of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself, followed by a slew of … wait … what exactly is a slew? Hold on a min, while I check Wikipedia … OK, yes, a slew of ghost stories, or at least a few, AND THEN, the entire and original broadcast of the final Houdini seance, from the top of the Knickerbocker hotel in Hollywood, CA, from way back in 1936. This was the last in a series of ten seances after his death, one each year for ten years. Did I mention that I love public archive recordings? Enjoy!

The Haunted Buffalo Radio Show 009 – G.W.N.Y.P.S Volume 1

thb-Gwnyps_001-300Here we have the first of probably many installments of fantastic discussion with Dan Klaes and Louie the Photographer of Greater Western New York Paranormal Society! GWNYPS is a paranormal research group based out of Buffalo, NY. In its field, its widely regarded as a hard working team. In 2013, during the 8 month filming of the Inaugural season of the documentary show Behind the Shadows, the team continued to provide private residential investigations that would sometimes stretch over the course of multiple weeks and over 27 locations. The team never stopped investigating after the filming wrap-up for season one. Within a month, they began filming Behind the Shadows Season 2, which is currently being featured on ParanormalWarehouse.com. One thing about this episode, is that I was super loaded on vodka, as the several drinks I had hit me a lot harder than I figured. So, there are a few extra moments of rambling and brotherly love on my part, and at some point after the 45 min mark, the show went haywire, started playing some music over everything and Skype audio shut down. I blame spirits for messing with us, in true prankster fashion. Anyway, these guys have a lot of great info and stories to tell and so much to look forward to in the future! Check ’em out at www.gwnyps.com

The Haunted Buffalo Radio Show 006 – Don Traynor & The Dunkirk Lighthouse

thb-dontraynor-smallWhile visiting various destinations in the United States Don Traynor never felt satisfied with generic ninety minute historic tours aboard a double decker bus or an amphibious quacker car. The prerecorded vignettes about the points of historical significance just didn’t suffice as the vehicle was cruising past them at 35 miles per hour. Maybe, if you were lucky, you’d get a few extra seconds to snap a picture if the red lights were working in your favor. Then he discovered historical ghost tours. What started with ghost tour on a warm October evening during a visit to Haunted Happenings in Salem, Massachusetts, the shores of which his oldest descendent in America arrived upon on June 24th 1625, soon became a ritual for Don no matter what location he would visit. He found historical ghost tours to be the perfect conduit to fuel his interest in history, his desire to stand in the footsteps of the past, and to provide a forum to discuss paranormal events experienced by guides and patrons similar to his own. In the years to follow Don continued to explore the connection between historical locations and the paranormal with focused attention on connecting to the residual activity. Most probably related to the duel explosion of social networking and paranormal based television programming, the opportunity to communicate with more like minded examiners became much easier to identify and execute. This led to Don joining a now defunct local paranormal investigation group called Chautauqua Paranormal. Although short lived, this opportunity allowed him to investigate and explore historic locations and private homes gaining valuable experience. Soon after, Don was invited to become a member of Fredonia Ghost Hunters and continues to work with the group to this day. Open to collaborations and new experiences, Don has also attended and assisted with investigations and events performed by many groups in the New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio region. He is the founder of Village Haunts, and lends that moniker to FGH as a public service component to support historic locations in raising funding to realize their missions through the facilitation of public paranormal investigations of historic locations. Through Village Haunts he has worked with organizations such as the Historic Bemus Point – Stow Ferry, The Daughters of the American Revolution, and Dunkirk Lighthouse & Military Park. Always looking to give back and learn new things, Don is entering his sixth season as a volunteer program coordinator at Lily Dale Assembly in Lily Dale, NY and keeps a full slate of participation and speaking engagements on the paracon circuit in his region including several events over the next several months in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.

The Haunted Buffalo Radio Show 004 – An evening with P.R.O.N.E

thb-alison-smithI now present, for your enjoyment and informational needs … a lively talk about the dead, with members of PRONE or Paranormal Researchers of Niagara and Erie. PRONE, is a paranormal investigation group based out of the Western New York area, whose goal is to gather objective scientific evidence in the realm of the paranormal in hope to obtain proof of whether or not, paranormal entities exists. They do this for their own personal knowledge as well as to assist clients with similar interests and at the very base of all this is a mission to simply help people out … folks who may have questions or concerns about a situation they may be dealing with, in the home or other location. As it states on their website, which is www.pro-ne.org “Above all we seek the truth.” and I believe that to the fullest extent of the law. I’ve been lucky enough to be at several investigations or gatherings with at least one, if not all of my guests at once and one thing I’ve learned is that they’re all good people and their integrity runs high. Without further yammering on my part, I’d like to invite you to take a listen to an exciting hour of para-discussion, with  Alison Smith, Rob Gillitto and Jeff Parham!
